EXO has just released a teaser for their new music video "Lightsaber" in collaboration with the upcoming movie "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
According to KpopStarz, the group was shocked when they found out that they were chosen to create a single for the film. EXO member Kai said that he doesn't even know why they were picked because the movie is already popular as it is.
SM Entertainment already had collaborations with Walt Disney before. One of which was the "Mickey Mouse Club" under the SM Rookies. The "Lightsaber" single was reportedly the next step in the growing partnership of the two companies.
At the end of the teaser, you will see SM Entertainment's logo alongside Walt Disney (Korea) Limited's. The new single is another achievement for the Kpop boyband as they are now identified with the iconic Star Wars franchise.
According to KMusic, an intriguing poster was released by Star Wars Korea on their Facebook page which shows the photo of EXO with a Star Wars text in Korean.
Later on, it was confirmed that the group was doing a collaboration with the latest Star Wars movie.
Movie News Guide reported that EXO will be releasing a Christmas album, too, according to their producer Joombas.
EXO is currently on tour in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan where they are making their debut of "Love Me Right - Romantic Universe."
Despite the boyband's busy schedule and the new opportunities coming their way, Baekhyun said that EXO's main focus now is sticking together.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will be shown on December 17 in Korea and EXO's "Lightsaber" song will be released around the same time.
