The National People's Congress (NPC) of China launched an online exhibition on Thursday as part of its celebration of the 60th anniversary of its founding, according to a Global Times report.
The launch of the exhibit, which is featured on NPC's website, coincides with China's first-ever national Constitution Day.
The country formally observed NPC's anniversary in September, and last month, the legislature designated Dec. 4 as the national Constitution Day.
The showcase chronicles the history and progress of China's legislative body by way of photos and audio-visual presentations.
Among the highlights of the exhibit is a section documenting the conception of China's Constitution, along with the several ammendments made to it.
The country's current Constitution was conceived 32 years ago.
In addition to the online version of the exhibit, the legislature is also set to release mobile apps for its digital version.
According to the central government, China has mounted a campaign to push forward the rule of law, with its Constitution being hailed as the "core" of its laws, which are founded on socialist principles.
During the Fourth Plenum in October, Chinese President Xi Jinping remarked that "fully implementing the Constitution is the primary task and basic work in building a socialist nation ruled by law, and that the Constitution is the country's basic law and the general rule in managing state affairs."
