"The Vampire Diaries" executive producer Julie Plec previously hinted on Nina Dobrev's possible return to the hit The CW series.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Plec revealed that she spoke with Dobrev, and the actress said that she will be happy to return to "The Vampire Diaries" in the finale if she's needed.
"Nina has always said that if there's something for her to do in the series finale that she will be there to do it. When she left, she said, 'I want to see this character to its end at the end of the show, so I can't wait to come back and put her to bed again," she said.
Meanwhile, some cast members from "The Vampire Diaries" have also been hinting on the possibility of Dobrev's return.
In an interview with TV Insider, Paul Wesley said that Dobrev will always be a huge part of "The Vampire Diaries."
This means that anytime she feels like reprising her role as Elena she could.
In other news, all of these reports are reportedly causing tension and more problems to Ian Somerhalder and his wife Nikki Reed.
Somerhalder is reportedly ecstatic over the idea of teaming up with his ex-girlfriend once again. Reed, on the other hand, is not pleased because she's worried that a reunion will bring back old feelings for the estranged couple.
According to Movie News Guide, the only way for Reed and Somerhalder to fix one of their issues is if it's 100 percent certain that Dobrev won't return to "The Vampire Diaries."
