Donnie Yen returns as Grandmaster in the much-anticipated sequel "Ip Man 3." The Wing Chun guru is going head-to-head with boxing legend Mike Tyson in the latest installment of the popular kung fu franchise.
Fandango reported that "Ip Man 3" is loosely based on the biography of iconic martial artist Bruce Lee.
Aside from Tyson, fans will also see Lee in CGI version. It was reported earlier that Lee's family tried to stop the producer from doing so, according to Movie Web.
Actor Kwok-Kwok Chan of "Kung Fu Hustle" and "Shaolin Soccer" will play the role of Lee in the film.
The two previous movies "Ip Man" and "Ip Man 2" are both based on the life of the real Ip Man who is a real-life martial arts master known for creating the fighting style Wing Chun. His most famous student is Lee.
Lee wasn't part of the first two movies. It was all about the Ip Man's early years in China. The real Wing Chun expert lived from 1893 to 1972. The timeline for "Ip Man 3" is still unknown and there's no word yet on how Lee will be introduced in the film.
Earlier report reveal that Tyson will play as a property developer who also happens to be a brutal street fighter. The trailer shows that Yen and Tyson will engage in an epic fight.
The movie also stars Jin Zhang, Lynn Hung, Patrick Tam, Meng Lo, Kent Cheng, Karena Ng, and Ka-Yan Leung. Wilson Yip returns as director after helming the first two Ip Man films.
"Ip Man 3" hits the big screen on Jan. 22, 2016.
