The Sacramento Kings roadshow continues and with later reports of Cousins' behavior, some sectors believe it's best to trade him.
The Kings need some stability all the way from the top and Cousins will not help with that considering his attitude.
A report from The Big Lead alleged that Cousins "cursed out" Coach George Karl in the locker room in front of the players.
It even prompted some of his teammates to remark: "you can't scream and curse like that at your coach in front of everyone."
In light of these developments, ESPN's Insider (link requires Insider membership) panel discussed about the course of action for the Sacramento Kings and of course, the question was raised on whether Cousins should be traded.
Insider Amin Elhassan had a resounding answer. He has already written an article about trading as early as 2013 (link here, Insider required) and the recent incidents seem to reinforce his notion.
Elhassan reasoned that Cousins is already "spoiled" in Sacramento."As someone who has been enabled all his life, Cousins needs to land somewhere new where he hears the word 'no' on day one." If he lands on a team that has strong leaders who can say "No" to him, he could reach the true potential of his talents.
Someone like Phil Jackson, perhaps, who has already coached the greatest talents and biggest egos in all of basketball including Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant.
When they talked about trade destinations, Insider Tom Haberstroh suggested that Carmelo Anthony is "another possibly disgruntled star who may be looking for a fresh start." He says the Knicks could send Melo and the 2018 first rounder to the Kings for DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo.
Coach George Karl was Carmelo Anthony's coach with the Denver Nuggets which was actually the most successful era of his career. Melo wanted a trade to New York because he wanted to play on a bigger market. A lot of players no longer subscribe to that line of thinking.
