Works by Chinese and Russian artists are currently on display at an exhibit at the State University of Economics and Service in the Russian city of Vladivostok, according to a report by the Global Times.
The exhibit, titled "Amid the Snow and Winter," showcases 56 paintings and graphics of winter landscapes by 36 artists from Russia and China. Of the total lineup, 40 were made by Chinese painters.
"Here we have the winter landscapes of Northeast Asia, scenery of Siberia, the Great Khingan Range, views of snow-covered Vladivostok," said Yu Zhixue, whose work "Ice and Snow," done in the style Chinese scenery painting, is on display at the exhibit.
"I hope local art lovers and all city dwellers would appreciate this exhibit," the artist said.
"Amid the Snow and Winter" is part of a joint project by Chinese and Russian artists that has been presented in several cities of the two countries since it commenced a few years ago.
"An exhibition totally dedicated to winter scenery is set in Vladivostok for the first time, and it is wonderful," remarked famous Vladivostok artist Ilya Butusov during the opening ceremony on Tuesday.
"Amid the Snow and Winter" will run until Friday, Dec. 12.
