Miley Cyrus did not do a Bobbi Kristina Brown or Whitney Houston. She did not drown in a bathtub. The closest accident she recently had was when she snapped off her lashes using an eyelash curler.
Waffles at Noon and Bad Satire Today, sites dedicated to debunking hoaxes, myths and urban legends, pointed to Now8News as the source of the news that the celebrity, fond of being photographed naked, was found dead by her entourage, but the cause of the alleged death was not yet known.
The two sites stress the report is totally false. It notes that Now8News "is one of many fake news websites to pop up over the past year, producing shocking headlines which prompt knee-jerk sharing before most readers stop to research the source."
Now8News, it adds, is known for publishing "shoddy, low-brow stories with outlandish headlines" to gain likes and shares in social media.
However, a few months ago, Miley posted photos of herself and Justin Bieber naked in a bathtub, but she immediately deleted the photos.
What's real about the controversial former Disney star is she accidentally cut part of her right upper eyelashes with an eyelash curler. She posted an image of the damaged eyelash on Instagram. The 22-year-old singer of "Wrecking Ball" tried to cover it up with mascara but the damage is still evident.
Out of frustration, she wrote, "F***ing curler chopped my dayummmm lash!"
Daily Mail cites a beauty expert who points out that the use of mascara causes lashes to become sticky and brittle, which explains why Miley's lashes were cut by the curler. The advice of Hollie Williams of FalseEyelashes.co.uk is "When using curlers, never press too hard - and release slowly before lifting gently."
Williams explains, "Pulling the curlers away too fast before they've properly released will tear out lashes." She adds that it takes about one month to regrow lashes accidentally cut.
