"Real Housewives of Orange County" star Brooks Ayers finally admitted that he does not have cancer. Vicki Gunvalson's ex-boyfriend revealed that he fabricated his medical records.
According to E! News, a representative from City of Hope medical center held that they never treated Ayers for cancer. The representative came forward after Ayers presented fake documents, in which it was stated that he received treatments from the said facility. Ayers then wanted to shut down the naysayers who have been saying that he was faking his illness all along.
Because of this, Ayers had no choice but to issue an apology. In his statement, he said that he "deeply regretted" submitting falsified documents in the hope of putting doubts about his cancer to rest. He explained that he did not want to divulge any of his actual medical records in the first place. He added that Gunvalson had nothing to do with it and he did everything in his own will.
Ayers, however, insisted that he still has cancer, adding that he would want to keep details about his condition to himself.
"From this day forward, my own personal journey with this disease will remain private as I initially intended over a year ago," Ayers said.
Meanwhile, according to Us Weekly, Gunvalson was livid with Ayers when she found out that he lied about the documents. The reality star has defended her then-boyfriend from her co-stars who kept insisting that he did not have cancer.
When a fan asked how about the status of their relationship now that she found out the truth about him. Gunvalson said that she had no intention of speaking to him ever again.
