Stephen Curry is the best player in the NBA this season. There's hardly an argument anymore.

Has Stephen Curry gone to the next level to reach "all-time" discussions? That's another matter.

Steve Nash would know. The two-time MVP shares many similarities with Curry as he was also deemed too small for the NBA and was chided for his lack of athleticism.

Now, Nash observes how Curry and his team are dominating the league, currently at 13-0 after beating the contender LA Clippers again.

He talked to Mercury News about his observations on Steph Curry, and he came out with some superlatives.

"He's maybe as skilled a player as we've ever had in this game," Nash said. "The skill level is already prodigious and it keeps getting better. And since the experience and understanding will continue to grow, it's pretty remarkable to think about the heights he can get to."

On the emerging MJ comparisons: "I wouldn't compare him to Michael Jordan-I wouldn't compare anybody to Michael. But I would say Steph is turning into a historical category of his own, in a way."

While we note the similarities, the two players have their differences. "I would never take some of the shots he's taking because I was so intent to get my teammates the ball and play the game that way. Pass first. It's not that there's a right or wrong, it's just different."

Nash says he was "born a playmaker while Curry is a gunslinger."

Yahoo Sports corroborates what Nash had to say with solid numbers. Curry's PER (Player Efficiency Rating) is 35. If he sustains that, it will be the highest ever, and we might as well suspend the MVP voting. He averages 34 points in 35 minutes, and while his assists are down at 5.9 a game, his teammates don't seem to mind as his turnover rate is low-lower than Steve Nash's.

Critics and experts say Curry won't be this good all season. They also said a lot of things about Curry-too small, too skinny, not All-Star material, jumpshooters don't win championships. The diminutive 6'3" guard from Davidson has hilariously shamed them all.
