Before starring in "Ghostbusters" and "Thor: Ragnarok," Chris Hemsworth will play Owen Chase in Ron Howard's "In the Heart of the Sea." Weeks before the action drama film hits theaters, the Australian actor graces the cover of a magazine.
Set to hit newsstands on Nov. 26, Thursday, the holiday issue of Vanity Fair features Hemsworth in its cover photographed by Bruce Weber. In a sexy video feature released by the magazine, the "In the Heart of the Sea" actor is seen playing with kittens.
The video feature shows behind-the-scenes from Hemsworth's cover shoot for the magazine. Aside from several kittens, the video also shows the Australian actor wiping a plate and playing drums with some clips from Albert Falzon's 1971 film "Morning of the Earth," which starred Terry Fitzgerald, Stephen Cooney and Barry Kanaiaupuni.
In an interview with the magazine, Hemsworth talked about the pressures of his major film franchises. He said, "When something costs $150 million and it doesn't work, it's your face, it's your fault, and the character has fans."
The story of "In the Heart of the Sea" revolves around the real-life event in 1820 when a sperm whale preyed upon a whaling ship. Starring Hemsworth opposite Cillian Murphy and Brendan Gleeson, the film is set to premiere on Dec. 11.
In another interview with People, Hemsworth revealed where he loves to have movie premiere. He said, "New York is always one of my favorite spots to have a premiere, so we'll hang out at the hotel and have a few drinks and just get caught up in the madness of it all."
