The lead characters for the "Walking Dead" spinoff series are going to be the "Gone Girl" star Kim Dickens and Cliff Curtis as confirmed by AMC. The new spinoff series is all set to take place in the very universe in which the "Walking Dead" series was situated. However, the only change is that the location is on the West Coast, instead of the original location of Georgia in the original series.
AMC Studio is producing the "Walking Dead" spinoff series. Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert and Robert Kirkman are the executive producers of the show. The creators of this highly anticipated series are Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson.
The lead character is Nancy Tompkins, who is a guidance counselor and seeing Dickens stellar performance in "Gone Girl," there is no doubt that she would do ample justice to it. In the "Walking Dead" spinoff series, Nancy has two children who are going to be portrayed by Alycia Debnam Carey and Frank Dillance. On the spinoff series they would be known as Ashley and Nick. It is being speculated that Nick is not ambitious and is doubtful about venturing into the real world and shifting out of his parental abode. On the other hand, Ashley is very ambitious and is levelheaded to boot as well. It ought to be mentioned that AMC has not confirmed the exact characterization of the series' cast members.
Dickens is no stranger to the small screen as she has also starred in "Deadwood," "Treme" and the immensely popular show "Sons of Anarchy."
