The NBA Season continues with some colorful storylines unraveling between teams with history.
Other than being Division rivals, there is not much color between the Detroit Pistons and the Milwaukee Bucks. But last summer, Greg Monroe left the Pistons and signed with the Bucks, believing them to be the better team.
The Pistons would want nothing more than to prove Monroe wrong, but instead, they got embarrassed. They felt they had the advantage, as noted by Detroit Bad Boys, the Bucks were the worst rebounding team in the league, and Detroit had Andre Drummond, the NBA's best rebounder.
However, Jason Kidd's boys were prepared for the challenge, and there were even accusations that he "dislikes contact." However, it was not about being soft, but being disoriented. NBC had the statement from Milwaukee Bucks guard Khris Middleton:
"We just tried to be physical," Middleton said on the strategy for Drummond. "We know he doesn't like contact. Once he misses a couple, he is going to get down on himself and start forcing tough shots. Greg did a great job of just making him shot tough shots and not letting him get to his right hand."
For his part, Greg Monroe downplayed the idea that he played better (20 points, 13 rebounds) against his former team.
"I am trying to win every game," Monroe said. "They just happen to be my former team. No matter who comes in here, I going to come in with the same focus. That is do what I need to do to help my team win on that night. They just happen to be the only other team I have played for."
Drummond still got the numbers at 15 points and 15 rebounds but the team needs him and his teammates to do more.
The Bucks took a much needed win as they were on a three-game losing streak prior to this game.
