"Game Of Thrones" star Hafþór Björnsson, known for his role as Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane in the HBO's hit fantasy series, recently proved that apart from fiction, he is indeed the mightiest man in the world.
The 27-year-old made headlines when he broke his own record for a keg throw at a World's Strongest Man's qualifying event held on Nov. 28, Saturday at the Giants Live Sweden. He reportedly tossed a 33lb beer keg 24 feet and six inches into the air.
"It was easy! I could have broken the roof," the three-time World's Strongest finalist told Uproxx. "It was amazing to do this in front of the great crowd. Bring on Europe's Strongest Man."
According to the 6 feet 9 inches tall Irish actor, the feat was no big deal and he could have easily broken the roof of the arena where the qualifying round was taking place.
Bjornsson also holds the current title of Europe's Strongest Man after breaking a 1,000-year-old Vicing record for strength when he carried a 32-foot and1,433-pound log for five steps at World's Strongest Viking competition held in February.
In the following month, the Irish native established a new world record when he used only one had to throw a 56-pound kettle bell 19 feet and three inches in the air at 2015 Arnold Sports Festival, Daily Mail reported.
Bjornsson started his career with Basketball when he was picked for the D2 Icelandic National Basketball team but a serious knee injury halted his progress. Later, he went on to win several strongman contests and eventually earned a wild card invitation to 2011 World's Strongest Man competition.
Bjornsson's "Game Of Thrones" character is a vassal to Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance). The character is known for extreme brutality owing to his fearsome size and strength.
Meanwhile, "Game Of Thrones" season 6 is expected to premiere on April 24, 2016.
