HBO ended the months ofspeculation about the fate of Kit Harrington's character Jon Snow by releasing the first poster for "Game of Thrones" season 6 showing the beloved character's bloodied face.
The dark and the otherwise gothic picture is being received by much excitement of the show's fans as it has put a final confirmatory seal on the rumor that Jon Snow is not dead and will return in the upcoming season. The poster was dropped on Twitter by the show's official handle along with a caption, "April."
Harrington's character was last seen in the closing shot of "Game Of Thrones" season 5 finale episode in which he was lying in the pool of blood after being stabbed by his own Night's Watch comrades for being a "traitor" during the epic Battle of Hardhome.
Despite the show creator's vehement declaration that Jon Snow is "deader than dead," fans were still hoping that he will return either through flashback scenes or through resurrection.
Although the network has not divulged any further detail, a major "Game Of Thrones" season 6 spoiler has emerged, according to which The Red Woman, Melisandre (Carice van Houten), will be instrumental in bringing Jon back through magic and Jon's dire wolf Ghost will be present at the resurrection scene as well, The Independent reported.
It still remains to be ascertained what part Ghost will play in bringing him back.
It is also rumored that Jon Snow will be shown heading back North Of Westeros to Winterfell and will also end up meeting Sansa Stark.
Not that the beloved Bastard will return to the show, his new identity is also likely to be revealed under which it will turn out that Ned Stark was actually his maternal uncle and not father.
"Game of Thrones" season 6 is likely to premiere on April 24, 2016, at 9 p.m, Movie News Guide reported.
