"Final Fantasy 7" remake might be heading to the Nintendo NX, as well as a 2017 release date for the PlayStation 4 console.
Several rumors and speculations are making rounds that Square Enix plans on having "Final Fantasy 7" remake for Nintendo's new game console, Nintendo NX, making the remake not an exclusive game for the PS4 console. The first speculation came when Nintendo announce that famed "FFVII" main character Cloud Strife is included in the new "Super Smash Bros." roster for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
Given the history between Sony and Nintendo, these two companies never had a good relationship ever since Square Enix decided to partner up with Sony during the PlayStation 1 and Nintendo 64 days, with the reasons being that both Square Enix and Nintendo had several disagreements, Tech Times reported.
With the inclusion of Cloud Strife in "Super Smash Bros." it seems that Square Enix is ready to give Nintendo another chance for a partnership as the Japanese company stated that "Dragon Quest XI" and "Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn" could be heading to the Nintendo NX.
So far, Square Enix has not yet commented on whether "Final Fantasy 7" remake will be heading to the Nintendo NX console.
In other news, "Final Fantasy 7" remake's launch date could happen sometime in 2017 as it is theorized that 2017 marks the 20th Anniversary of the beloved sequel since its launch on the first PlayStation console, Examiner reported.
Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase stated that they planning to enhance the combat system in "Final Fantasy 7" remake in a series of "Trial and Error" stages as fans are debating whether they should bring the old turn-based style of gameplay or go for the current action-RPG style.
Game director Tetsuya Nomura stated that they will likely have dramatic changes in the remake, but promised to make the game recognizable as he fears that changing too much within "Final Fantasy 7" might upset gaming fans, especially the ones who have played the original title.
There will new features such as multiplayer, virtual reality gameplay, mobile app devices, mini-games and DLC updates.
