Gwen Stefani belted out an emotional rendition of "Used to Love You" that was witnessed by romantic partner Blake Shelton as the latest episode of "The Voice" Season 9 saw Korin Bukowski become eliminated.
The breakup single of Stefani had been given a different, sentimental meaning ever since reports came out in November about "The Voice" coach's separation from 13-year partner Gavin Rossdale.
Moreover, Stefani's new lover Blake Shelton was also in the studio to hear the 46-year-old perform a stripped-down "Used to Love You," according to Vanity Fair. The No Doubt singer wore a gorgeous white dress that seemed to recall weddings and marriages.
Stefani's latest performance at "The Voice" Season 2 indicated authentic emotion as most of the digital processing found in the original single was nowhere to be found.
Meanwhile, Bukowski had to bid everyone goodbye at "The Voice" as the artist forgot the lyrics to Colbie Caillat's "Try" twice and was eventually eliminated, according to New York Daily News.
Bukowski, however, did not just let go of the microphone and leave the stage out of embarrassment. Instead, the contestant continued singing "Try" and was successfully able to end the track with a standing ovation given by the audience.
Despite the fact that Bukowski is already out of the singing competition, Stefani exclaimed that the loss should not ruin one's whole life since "The Voice" is just a show after all.
After the emotional moment, 15-year-old Braiden Sunshine knew that he would be part of the nine remaining contestants who would be battling it out next week in the semifinals.
The nine artists who will still be performing in "The Voice" Season 9 are Braiden Sunshine, Emily Ann Roberts, Jordan Smith, Jeffery Austin, Barrett Baber, Madi Davis, Amy Vachal, Zach Seabaugh and Shelby Brown.
