The NBA Trade Rumors continue for the New Orleans Pelicans and Chicago Bulls.

The Pelicans fell short of the lofty expectations hoisted upon them in the summer while the Bulls are now in question of whether they are still a legitimate contender.

The Bulls are pondering the polarizing presence of Derrick Rose as the team seems ready to hand over the reins to Jimmy Butler. On the other hand, the Pelicans need help of any kind. Injuries notwithstanding, their roster simply does not have enough firepower.

A Derrick Rose trade is one of the "bold changes" that Sir Charles In Charge proposed. While they admit that it would not be easy to trade Rose's contract but if there were, the "Bulls would jump on the opportunity."

On the other hand, the Pelicans need to make roster changes to acquire a star alongside Anthony Davis. At this point, it would be difficult for them to compete for free agents in the summer and Derrick Rose, despite his injury history is still competitive when healthy and shades of his former MVP skills are still visible.

The Pelicans could get a boost on the court with Rose and he's also a big crowd draw. Both Rose and Davis are natives of Chicago but they could flourish in New Orleans.

According to iSchool Guide, a trade sending Derrick Rose and Tony Snell to the Pelicans in exchange for Eric Gordon and Jrue Holiday could help both teams.

Eric Gordon could boost the shooting guard position (as the Bulls play Jimmy Butler on the three) and is on an expiring contract while Holiday can take Rose's place as the starting point guard-which would eliminate the Rose-Butler "alpha dog" controversy that media has insinuated.

It was also proposed that the Pelicans can ask for rookie Bobby Portis instead of Tony Snell. This would probably not break the deal for the Bulls as their frontcourt is currently congested.
