Television crime drama "Dexter" did not return on air on Thanksgiving Day, but Showtime Network considered to bring back this series on air if there is an opportunity.
The official Twitter account of crime drama created a buzz on Twitter. "Who wants a leg? Happy Thanksgiving from #Dexter!" wrote on the crime drama series official Twitter account.
An intriguing image was posted on Instagram with a caption,"showtimeHave a dreadful #Halloween and catch up on @pennydreadful and #Dexter on #ShowtimeAnytime! #pennydreadful #dreadfuls #michaelchall #evagreen".
Rumors suggested that the TV series will be rebooted, and there were speculations that the TV show will continue to season 9. During Television Critics Association tour, the Head of Showtime Network Showtime, David Nevins, admitted that this TV series that centered on a serial killer is the only show he considered to bring back according to Metro UK.
However, the show will be back only if Michael C. Hall (Dexter) will agree to a come-back, according to Waleg.
The TV series ran for eight seasons and the story was based on Jeff Lindsay's novel "Darkly Dreaming Dexter".
"Dexter" season 8 finale was aired on June 30, 2013 and many fans were unhappy with the ending. Showtime Network did not allow the writers to kill Dexter in the last episode sparking hopes that his story will carry on.
Meanwhile, actor who protrayed the role of Dexter starred in the theater play "Lazarus." Hall portrayed the role of Thomas Jerome Newton, an alien who trapped in Earth.
