The latest "New Girl" season 5 spoilers revealed that the premiere episode will focus on Megan Fox's Reagan and Cece's (Hannah Simone) lesbian past. It was said that the two's relationship will definitely "shake things up."
Speaking to TV Line, Simone shared that Schmidt will be upset when it was revealed that Cece and Reagan has hooked up in the past. Given that he has always been possessive of his fiancé, the actress shared that he would feel insecure of their relationship.
"By the end of that first episode, they're in the shower together. So yes, her character definitely shakes things up," Simone added.
The girl-on-girl story, however, will eventually take the backseat when it was revealed that Reagan actually has her eyes set on Nick (Jake Johnson) and not Cece.
Fans of "New Girl" were definitely surprised after learning about the twist. Several pointed out that in a span of four seasons, Cece has never once hinted that she is interested in other women. Some pointed out that the writers were "desperately" trying to rack up ratings by having a sexier theme, which does not work at all.
"I could almost get away with 'It's college' but they shower together in the present?! That makes no sense to me at all," one fan wrote.
Some also pointed out that the writers could have introduced Cece as a bisexual character since the beginning. They added that it was just unusual for them to create this arc at the middle of the series.
