The recently concluded PlayStation Experience event revealed more details and footage for the highly anticipated "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" and fans were treated to more updates and a sneak peek to the remake of the much-beloved franchise.
The remake for the cult classic PlayStation game "Final Fantasy 7" was announced over a year ago without much noise. However, Attack of the Fanboy gave more details about the game from the PlayStation Experience event, and the fans are once again excited.
More details about the game were posted at the PlayStation Blog. Square Enix Community Manager, Dan Seto says that the game is in "still early days," so it may take a while for the game to be released. The studio has no word yet on the game's official release date for the remake. Rumors indicate though that "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" is being prepped for a 2017 or 2018 release, in time for the franchise's 20th anniversary.
The gameplay was described to have been improved that it "looks more action oriented and has a real feeling of speed". The trailer did match this description correctly. Fans can also expect a better visual quality similar to the "Final Fantasy" movie Advent Children.
Square Enix' Yoshinori Kitase confirms that the game is going to be more action-orientated as the approach for the revival to make the actions more "real-time based".
Seto confirmed that the trailer featured in the event shows the game in the very early stage of development. And while the story and the music seemed to be intact, we have yet to see the final version of the game if it is the case.
Kitase has committed to retaining the visual look of characters like Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith and is promising to provide movie quality visuals for the highly anticipated remake.
The original "Final Fantasy 7" is currently available for PS4.
