Christian Grey actor Jamie Dornan admits that one of his biggest fears is to be killed by "mad fans."

Dornan, who is a lead star in the upcoming film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey" based on the best-selling novel with an identical name by E.L. James, told Details magazine for its February issue that he does not want to be murdered "like John Lennon." The Beatles member was assassinated by a crazy fan in 1980.

In addition to the fear of death itself, the 32-year-old actor also said that he does not want to die yet because he has a wife and a daughter. Dornan is married to English actress Amelia warner.

One possible reason the "Fifty Shades" actor is fearing an assassination is that he was not the first choice for the lead role in the film. Charlie Hunnam dropped out of the cast after conflicts in schedule. Fans of the series then started petitions to cast other Hollywood heartthrobs instead, including Ian Somehalder and Robert Pattinson, which led to the disappointment of some fans, according to the Huffington Post.

In addition, Northern Irish actor told the magazine that he refrained from using the Internet when he was cast in the upcoming movie. He said that the film was an "easy target" for Hollywood critics and fans, whether the reactions may be "positive or negative."

The film adaptation, which had a budget of $40 million, of the erotic novel is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson. It also stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" will premiere Valentine's Day.
