Donald trump sought out to twitter in a bid to criticize U.S. president Barack Obama's speech, and in turn, forgetting his encounters with Muslim-American champions.
The U.S president called out to the American citizens to put an end to discriminations against Muslim-Americans and addressing the strategy for over throwing ISIS.
Obama gave his speech while at the white house. "Muslim Americans are our friends and our neighbours; our co-workers, our sports heroes - and, yes, they are our men and women in uniform," he said.
The presidential candidate of the republican as well as business mogul, Donald trump sent a tweet on Twitter airing his views on the president's public address. He started by saying how wrong Obama had been for not stating that united states was at 'war with radical Islamic terrorists' and whether the president was profiling when he talked of Islamic heroes in the field of sports.
According to Deadline, Twitter users however pointed out to Donald trump that he may have become forgetful despite his claim of having the world's greatest memory. Trump has apparently come across Muslim boxing legend Mohammed Ali on numerous occasions including 2007 when Ali gave trump with a Mohammed Ali award. Moreover, trump posted a "Throw back Thursday" photo on Facebook in May 2015 with himself and Ali, whom he tagged and captioned friend.
In addition, trump is said to know Kareem Abdul Jabbar the NBA's leading point scorer. According to NBC News, Donald trump and Kareem met in September. Trump has also met other Muslim American athletes such as Larry Johnson, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Shaquille O'Neal who are basketball greats as well as boxing champions like Bernard Hopkins and Mike Tyson.
The Muslim-Americans have not been pleased by Trumps comments as much as the sole purpose for his statements was to criticise the president Barrack Obama.
