An official statement from Jaguar Land Rover said that the company will be hiring 1,300 workers who will work on the development and production of the first ever Jaguar sports utility vehicle model. Workers will be assigned in Jaguar's plant in Solihull, a town in the Midlands region of England.
The Solihull plant will oversee the production of the Jaguar XE along with the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and two Land Rover vehicles, the Discovery and the Defender. When asked about their decision on putting their production plant in England, the company said that they are dedicated in building cars "crafted with that special British flair."
Jaguars first ever sports utility vehicle, the F-Pace was based on the C-X17 concept car which was first unveiled in the Frankfurt motor show last 2013 and will be released on the market on 2016.
Jaguar Land Rover released that their 2014 sales record reached 262,678 total units sold which amounts to 9% increase from its total sales in 2013. The luxury car maker own by Indian multinational company Tata Motors also stated that they are targeting the 500,000 mark for this year's sales output. Based on recent statistics, this is the fifth successive year that the company has shown signs of increasing sales output and if they continue their stride this year, the 500,000 mark is not impossible to achieve.
According to reports, Jaguar Land Rover has already capitalized £1.5 billion in the plant in Solihull in order to intensification its production capabilities. Last 2013, the company also added 1,700 workers to its workforce in the Solihull plant to help in the production of the Jaguar XE and the company currently has 9,450 employee in its workforce.
