Julie Plec, the executive producer of "The Vampire Diaries," recently talked about the fates of Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, after they got trapped inside the Phoenix Stone.
In "Cold As Ice," the two attempted to take down Todd Lasance but they were not successful at all.
As the episode ended, Todd attacked Ian trapping him inside the mysterious stone. Another Scarlett Byrne also did the same thing to Paul Wesley.
Plec said that Ian and Wesley's journey will get revealed while trapped in the Phoenix Stone during the second half of season 7, she said this during an interview with Variety.
She went ahead and said that the great thing about the coming episodes in the next chapter is that their winter season launches with a great concept episode featuring Ian's experiences as a result of the trap in his personal hell. She added that the way they unveil Wesley's, and the journey is completely different.
According to Design Trend, Plec shared some details from the upcoming episode of Civil War that will solely focus on Ian's character.
The episode directed by Deb Chow was amazing because it had almost everything seen in a Civil War, the executive producer said this.
"We had cannons and amputees and an entire Civil War combat village," she said.
Also, news, " The Vampire Diaries" season 7 will go on a brief hiatus and on Jan. 29 will return to The CW.
The hit series will be moved to its new Friday timeslot from its usual Thursday schedule to accommodate The CW's new show "DC's Legends of Tomorrow," E! News, reported.
The move from Thursday to Friday according to the publication is a first for "The Vampire Diaries" since it premiered in 2009.
On The CW on Jan. 29, 2016, "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 will premiere at eight p.m. ET.
