A dying teenager fan of the rap icon Eminem wished to see his musical hero before he passed away. The boy was given only a week to live and asked for his dying wish.

The "Rap God" hitmaker went to visit Gage Garmo, 17, at his home in the evening of Jan. 11, Sunday. The teenager was very surprised to see the rapper and spent mostly talking about hip-hop and football.

As Eminem arrived at the Garmo home, the ailing boy got up and expressed a delighted smile on his face which he has never done in a very long time, according to Ingrid Todt of Rainbow Connection, an organization in Michigan who grants wishes of children with life-threatening diseases.

Garmo was diagnosed with bone cancer three years ago. He was a freshman in Rochester high school at the time. He had endured series of cancer surgeries and treatments all those years but had a quick unexpected downturn last week which left him with only a few days to live.

Garmo's classmates and friends took initiative and used the social media to spread the wish of their sick friend. Through this, the unforeseen meet-up was set in place by Rainbow Connection. The young Garmo was already in their list. The sudden decline of his health spurred them to a 48-hour scramble to contact the rapper's compound and arrange the meet.

The rapper's team had been cooperative to make the quick arrangement and Eminem agreed to meet the boy in his own home, according to Executive Director Mary Grace McCarter.
