Zoeey Deschanel has confirmed that she is pregnant, People reported.

The "New Girl" actress revealed her thoughts about expecting her first child, which is reportedly due in summer with partner Jacob Pechenik.

"Jacob and I are over the moon. We are so excited to meet our little one," Deschanel said.

Producer Pechenik and Deschanel dated since mid 2014. The couple made their first public appearance at the Emmys in 2014.  Before her relationship with Pechenik, Deschanel's boyfriend was screenwriter Jamie Linden. The actress was previously married to Death Cab for Cutie front man Ben Gibbard in 2009 until they separated in 2012, according to US Weekly.

Deschanel and Pechenik are now working together for the comedy film "Rock the Kabash," which will be released before the year ends. The actress will star in the movie produced by Pechenik along with Bruce Willis, Kate Hudson and Bill Murray. "Rock the Kabash" is about a music producer who is out to save his dying career with the help of a talented young lady in Afghnanistan, Examiner reported.

As for her television show, there is still no update if Deschanel will continue filming "New Girl" despite her condition.  The show is currently in its fourth season that premiered on September with low ratings. It debuted with 3.1 million viewers, which is 45 percent lower compared to the 2013 ratings, according to Entertainment Weekly.

In the most recent episode 13 entitled "Coming Out," Jess played by Deschanel confessed to the school faculty about her relationship with Ryan portrayed by Julian Morris.

Meanwhile, the Deschanel clan is expecting new additional members since the actress' sister Emily is also pregnant. The "Bones" star revealed that her second pregnancy with husband David Hornsby is making her more thirsty than usual.  Emily said that she always wants fluids preferably "lemonade or a sparkling water."

Fans can catch the Deschanel sisters in their respective series on the FOX channel. "Bones" at 8 PM on Thursdays for Emily while "New Girl" at 9 PM on Tuesdays for Zooey.
