Hong Kong-based singer G.E.M., which stands for Get Everybody Moving, has soared high in international fame after joining "I Am a Singer" in 2014. The stunt shot her popularity level high up the notch.
G.E.M., or Gloria Tang in real life, reported that she felt really surprised that she has received good support from her local fans.
"I can see where my fans are from, based on the statistics on my Facebook page. So I've always thought that I don't have many fans in Singapore!" she exclaimed. "It's a huge, huge encouragement for me to be able to receive such a great response for my first concert there."
"Singapore is a very clean country," G.E.M. mentioned when expressing her recollections of the first time she stepped foot in Singapore, the little red dot. She also said that if she should ever go there again, she'd love to roam around and snap some photos.
Local event organizer UnUsUaL Entertainment appended an additional two more nights to G.E.M.'s X.X.X. Live World Tour in Singapore. The event will be held at The Max Pavilion (Singapore Expo) sometime this January. The booked shows for Jan. 21 and Feb. 1 are all sold out, while 95 percent of the tickets for a gig on Jan. 30 have already been sold as well.
Since her X.X.X. Live World Tour May last year, she has performed in 29 cities to sold out concerts. What came with her fame is notoriety. Reports and rumors about her "diva" attitude and about her break-up with Taiwanese singer Yoga Lin quickly spread.
In the past year, G.E.M. encountered several negative reports about her which, she reported, made her very upset. The 23-year-old learned to change the way she dealt with such issues by learning how to embrace positive thinking.
Though she knows she can't control what people think of her, she believes that she has the best explanation and the best evidence for everything.
"I may not be able to explain myself [to everyone], but at least I try to make everyone that I interact with feel my sincerity," she said.
"I no longer read those reports, because whether I do that or not, life goes on. It is better to maintain a happy mood so that I would spread only positive energy to my crew, family and friends, and the fans," she mentioned.
Gloria Tang said that 2014 provided major changes in the different aspects of her life.
"Be it my singing, interaction with the audience, handling stress and different problems in life, or my attitude toward my family, I have grown a lot. To me, 2014 was a very fulfilling year."
