Gwyneth Paltrow, revealed Wednesday, on Howard Stern's radio show that she was offered the female lead role in the blockbuster "Titanic" and "Boogie Nights", both of which she turned down.
Paltrow opened up and spoke in detail about her past, love life and all her ex-boyfriends in an interesting interview with radio jockey Stern. She even gave details of the films that she decided to skip.
In 1997, Paltrow had the opportunity to do two films that would have perhaps changed her career graph. However, the actress chose to throw it away for other films that came her way.
Though Paltrow was quite keen to play the role of a Roller Girl in "Boogie Nights," she decided to opt out as her father, late director Bruce Paltrow, did not quite like the role.
The talented actress also considered the feelings of her grandfather, who she said, was very conservative.
"I just thought, I can't be totally naked and like, giving a BJ on screen. I'll kill my grandfather," said the 42-year-old Paltrow.
Paltrow, however, praised Graham on her "perfect" portrayal of a drugged-out porn star. "You're seeing this awesome girl be so good in it," said Paltrow.
As for "Titanic," Paltrow was one of the two actresses whom James Cameron had chosen to play the role of Rose. She turned it down, and the rest is history. Kate Winslet won an Oscar nomination in 1997 for the film and was able to make a mark in Hollywood.
Paltrow has enough reason to be proud of her career in spite of losing two bigwigs to her contemporaries. Her role in films such as "Shakespeare In Love," "The Royal Tennenbaums", "Proof", and "Contagion" has managed to secure her stardom.
Paltrow will next be seen in "Mortdecai" opposite Johnny Depp and Ewan McGregor.
