In an interview during the Critic's Choice Awards, the actress was asked about the issue and she replied "I'd be lying if there wasn't a little, 'aw,'Look at tonight, look at the Globes, look at the SAGs!'."

Aniston added that she is already happy that "Cake" has received praises even if the film was not yet officially released. The actress referred to awards shows as "cherry on top" when celebrities make movies that are special to them, according to New York Daily News.

The "Friends" star shared that Julianne Moore and Reese Witherspoon who were both nominated for the Oscars' Best Actress category sent her a message. Aniston described the two as "amazing women" and said that not being nominated does not "take away the work that was done."

Aside from the messages she received from her fellow actresses, Aniston was comforted by other people's comments after the Oscars' nominees were revealed.

"I was amazed at how many messages of 'Shocked!' 'Fuck 'em!' and 'Robbed!' I got. I found it quite endearing and flattering that I had so many people rooting for me," Aniston said.

The actress added that being the number one snubbed is even better that being nominated for an award.

Aniston proceed to talk about the film and said that "Cake" is something new to her. The 45-year-old star described her role Claire Bennett as someone who is "dark" because of stagnant circumstances and "in pain" both in outward appearance and inner self.

Claire is a straightforward woman who struggled physically and emotionally after an accident. She encountered visions of a woman who committed suicide while attending her chronic pain support group. The most painful event of her life happened when she lost someone who is very dear to her.

The actress commented that movies like "Cake" are well received by the audience since people learn and empathize with the characters.

Fans will finally see Aniston's portrayal of Claire as Cake opens in theatres on Jan. 23.
