The Miami Heat can still make trades to improve their team in a bid to reach the playoffs.
One of the minor trades that can help them move forward is acquiring Courtney Lee, according to All You Can Heat, a team fansite.
In addressing the question on their "fantasy trade" for the Heat, Wes Goldberg of AYCH proposed trading for Lee, a modest move that can help the team.
He notes that the team needs perimeter shooting, and one asset that they can pitch is Josh McRoberts . McRoberts can fit with the new philosophy that the Memphis Grizzlies want to adopt. The Marc Gasol-Zach Randolph front court would shift with Z-Bo coming off the bench as McRoberts is the kind of power forward who can play faster and make his teammates better.
Goldberg also said that "the Grizzlies could use him as the starter along with Gasol to mimic what their Western Conference rivals the San Antonio Spurs are doing with their bigs on the elbows."
In return, they could part with Courtney Lee. Lee is an expiring contract and the salaries would match. The Grizzlies already explored trading Lee in the offseason according to Grizzly Bear Blues as they would rather favor Tony Allen who is already part of the Memphis "core."
Lee offers additional three point shooting and is a good perimeter defender. The Heat lost one of their shooters in Mario Chalmers (who was traded to Memphis) in what was perceived as a way to dodge the luxury tax. They could make another transaction for the benefit of their playoff bids.
