"Titanic" star Leonardo DiCaprio recently revealed why he didn't accept an offer to appear in "Star Wars."
In an interview with ShortList, DiCaprio confirmed that he actually had a meeting with George Lucas about playing the role of Anakin Skywalker.
However, the actor said that he didn't really feel that he was ready to take on such a huge role in an equally huge franchise.
When asked whether or not he's completely closed his doors to appearing on "Star Wars," DiCaprio said "no."
"You never know. You never know. They're getting better and better as far as complex characters in these movies. I haven't yet. But no, I don't rule out anything," he said.
DiCaprio also declined the role of Spider-Man or Peter Parker which was given to Toby Maguire. He was also invited to play the role of Joker in "Batman Forever," but it was later on given to Chris O'Donnell.
Anakin Skywalker was given to Hayden Christensen, and the actor told the Los Angeles Times that he will take a short break after his "Star Wars" residency.
"I guess I felt like I had this great thing in 'Star Wars' that provided all these opportunities and gave me a career, but it all kind of felt a little too handed to me. I didn't want to go through life feeling like I was just riding the wave," he said.
In other news, DiCaprio will appear in the upcoming movie "The Revenant" which will be in limited release in theaters in the United States starting Jan. 8, 2016.
