The NBA trade rumors continue to heat up with an unlikely team predicted to join the fray.
The Cleveland Cavaliers seem all set. They were only two games away from the NBA title last season and if it was assumed that the untimely injuries to Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love swayed the outcome to the Warriors' favor. It seemed like all the Cavs need is to stay healthy.
However, the Christmas day rematch between the two finalists unraveled a serious weakness for LeBron James' team, and according to King James Gospel, they are willing to address that in a trade.
KJG cited a True Hoop podcast, where ESPN Insider Brian Windhorst mentioned that "the problem the Cavs have playing Kevin Love against the Warriors on defense and what they lose on offense when playing Tristan Thompson." He also noted Morris "in relation to the Cavs ability to play against the Golden State Warriors."
In short, Morris would be a good match-up with the player that they perceive to give the Cavs problems: Draymond Green.
Aside from that assumption, there were many reasons to acquire Markieff Morris. He has a very cap-friendly contract, well within the Trade Exception that that Cavs has. The Suns also lost leverage on trading him and are likely not to ask for much in return.
The Cavs fan site also has tremendous faith that LeBron James can corral Markieff's attitude, considering how James has turned J.R Smith into a productive player when he was considered almost untradeable because of his issues.
This is still a suggestion from Cavs' fans, although the possibility has been floated by a known ESPN Insider.
