Avid fans of "Final Fantasy" franchise already have "Final Fantasy VII" remake and "Final Fantasy XV" looming. Now, they can include on their list the PC, iOS, and Android launch of "Final Fantasy IX."
Square Enix announced the release of "Final Fantasy IX" on PC and mobile device via its Japanese website on Dec. 31, 2015. The launch will mark the first time "Final Fantasy" is being available outside PlayStation consoles. The game was first launched to the PS1 in 200 before being released on PS3 as a PlayStation Classic in 2010.
The Final Fantasy IX port will get high-definition graphics, newly incorporated achievements, auto-save, high-speed mode, and a number of game improvement features when it is launched. Fortunately, the latest trailer and screenshots highlight that the Final Fantasy IX is loyal to its original release.
Reportedly, the Final Fantasy VI version for Steam was largely criticized for being a port for the mobile version of the game that made unwelcome patches to character sprites along with other changes, according to Store Steam-Powered.
Based on whom fan ask, "Final Fantasy IX" is either the best in the franchise or at least among the top five. The installment took the series back to its high fantasy roots after toying with futuristic settings in "Final Fantasy VII" and "Final Fantasy VIII." However, the game possibly did not receive as much attention as it deserved because it released at the very end of the PS1 lifecycle and a year after the PS2 was unveiled.
In essence, a release to other platforms is a long-time coming. Stay tuned for more information as it trickles in. The footage below gives more details on the upcoming "Final Fantasy IX" on PC and mobile platforms.
