The NBA trade rumors still have the Oklahoma City Thunder as possible buyers.
The contenders in the Western Conference, specifically the juggernauts Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs are still a definite notch above the Thunder, even with Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook healthy.
As Today's Fastbreak pointed out, they still have a weak point they need to address and suggests that they should be active at the trade deadline.
"New coach, same story: the Thunder need a 3-and-D wing to sufficiently complement their Westbrook-Durant-Ibaka-Adams lineup. Dion Waiters was supposed to be that, Andre Roberson has tried and Anthony Morrow apparently hasn't been up to the task for Billy Donovan or Scott Brooks."
GM Sam Presti should pull out all stops for a title chase as winning would probably relieve him of the Kevin Durant dilemma. In this light, Real GM forum users suggested trading for Avery Bradley of the Boston Celtics or Courtney Lee of the Memphis Grizzlies.
One of the main pieces of the suggested trades is Dion Waiters. Waiters is a 4th overall pick originally from the Cleveland Cavaliers and is a capable scorer with the ball in his hand. However, with Westbrook and Durant, that does not seem to be a good fit for the team.
A suggestion from user 'MoneyTalks41890' ticked the interest of Thunder fans.
"Would something around Waiters/McGary for Lee interest them? I think it's an overpay, but I think Lee is one of the few attainable 2s that could push this team over the edge. Bench wing is the only glaring weakness."
For Bradley, a similar trade would not work for the Celtics, as they are seeking to move quantity for quality. While there should be adjustments for salaries to match, the Lee trade would be more feasible.
