The NBA trade rumors continue to host the Boston Celtics who are still trying to acquire a star.
The Celtics have done a great job of asset accumulation in terms of draft picks and having another team (Brooklyn Nets) tanking for them. However, that is just the first phase of building a competitive team.
Boston will not win with four rookies in their roster even if they are all first round picks-everybody else in the league knows this and they lose some leverage because of this.
From the Sacramento side, the turmoil has subsided and the Kings would not trade a talent like Cousins unless they had to. Team site Sactown Royalty insists that a Boogie trade is not the answer.
"I don't think the Kings should trade DeMarcus Cousins, and that isn't because I think he's untouchable, or untradeable, or any of that nonsense. It's just not the right move at this time," SR's Tony Xypteras wrote.
The Celtics cannot wait until the Kings change their mind and there are now some rumblings from the Boston Celtics fans at their site Celtics Blog about other centers.
Greg Monroe was the big free agent acquisition for the Milwaukee Bucks. He is the coveted name that chose their team over the New York Knicks and it symbolizes how the status of the team has improved.
However, it did not translate in the standings. While Milwaukee was supposed to improve with Monroe signing and Jabari Parker now playing after his injury, their defense has struggled.
This is why the Celtics believe it could be an opportunity for them to grab a big man. Monroe is weak defensively but he is a solid offensive anchor and the Celtics have enough defenders to cover for him.
The proposal put forth by user MPLBaller had the Celtics trade Lee, Zeller, Young and 2016 Celts First round pick and 2016 Dallas First round pick for Monroe.
That maybe too much, as some comments point out. David Lee is totally expendable and Zeller has not been renewed. The point of contention is that the Celts should only give one pick, Celts or Dallas but not both.
