"How to Get Away With Murder" season 2 will finally reveal the real connection between Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) and Wes (Alfred Enoch).
As of late, there are ongoing speculations that Wes could be Annalise's biological son. There are also some rumors that Wes could be Annalise's nephew.
In an interview with TV Line last year, executive producer Pete Nowalk said that he and the rest of the "HTGAWM" team have not always known how Annalise is related to Wes.
"I'd love to say yes, I knew exactly what was going to be between them, but that would be a lie. It's a thing where you watch and react. I remember in the pilot, when Viola was scolding him in the lecture hall, she brought so much more of a feeling of care in her eyes than I'd pictured, and it grew out of there. They're one of the central relationships - if not the central relationship - so I watch how they play it," he said.
Meanwhile, Nowalk also promised fans that more details about the two characters' backstories will be unveiled in season 2, episode 10.
While speaking with TV Line during a separate interview, Nowalk said that "What Happened To You, Annalise?" will be a huge midseason premiere episode for the hit ABC show.
"It's a really big part of our premiere. It's an extremely emotional idea that Viola had pitched at the beginning of the season. We've set up a lot of mysteries about how Annalise knows Wes, what their past is, why she feels so maternal towards him. All of that will be elaborated on in our back six episodes, and the baby is really important. It's a great insight into Annalise. I'm really proud of it - and I'm hoping she will, too - because it was such a collaboration," he said.
In other news, the lives of the members of the Keating Five will also be affected following Annalise and Wes' shooting incident.
The teaser for episode 10 revealed that Annalise will become much closer to Laurel (Karla Souza) now that Wes is no longer by her side.
"How to Get Away With Murder" season 2, episode 10 will premiere on Feb. 11 on ABC.
