"How to Get Away With Murder" season 2 star Alfred Enoch recently talked about his character Wes Gibbins on the hit ABC series.
In an interview with Variety, the British actor said that he believes Wes has another motive for shooting Annalise Keating (Viola Davis).
During season two's fall finale episode on Thursday night, Annalise urged Wes to shoot him on the leg to make it look like Emily Sinclair (Sarah Burns) attacked her.
However, after Annalise told Wes that Rebecca (Katie Findlay) was already dead, he could no longer contain his anger and shot her on the stomach.
When asked whether or not he thinks Wes really wants to kill Annalise, the actor said that it's quite difficult to say.
"I think it's difficult to differentiate those things. I want people to have the freedom to interpret it how they want, but he certainly goes over to her to finish off the job. I genuinely think his intention is to kill her," he said.
Meanwhile, Enoch also dished on what his reaction was like when he got the script during the table read that revealed his character was Annalise's shooter.
"I thought it would be exciting to play, and that's how it proved. I'm happy the issue about Rebecca's death was revealed. I found that satisfying from his perspective. It's this huge obstacle - how do they resolve that? The way it falls out, he tried to kill her," he said.
"How to Get Away With Murder" season 2 will return to ABC for its 10th episode on Feb. 11, 2016.
