"The Vampire Diaries" stars Candice King, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder as Caroline Forbes, Stefan Salvatore and Damon Salvatore, respectively.

In "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 episode 12 "Postcards from the Edge," Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) uncovered the reason behind his brother Damon Salvatore's (Ian Somerhalder) dark descent following his experience in the Phoenix stone. The next episodes will show how the latter handles the apparent death of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev).

Damon will lash out in ways that show his dark side because he will not take Elena's apparent death very well, according to Entertainment Weekly. In addition, he will make an alliance due to his lack of restraint.

Directed by Garreth Stover and written by Chad Fiveash and James Stoteraux, episode 13 titled "This Woman's Work," which will airs on Feb. 19, shows Damon having to make things right. His actions will unintentionally put his loved ones in the path of vampire hunter Rayna Cruz (Leslie-Anne Mumford), who is on the loose.

In episode 14 titled "Moonlight on the Bayou," Stefan will come face to face with Klaus Mikaelson (Joseph Morgan), who is suspicious of his arrival, when he goes to New Orleans with a mission to lure Rayna away from his friends. Airing on Feb. 26, the episode is directed by Jeffrey Hunt and written by Caroline Dries and Brett Matthews.

Meanwhile, Stefan will appear in "The Originals" Season 3 episode 14 titled "A Streetcar Named Desire," which will also air on Feb. 26. His unexpected arrival in the episode may be the key to helping Freya Mikaelson (Riley Voelkel) rescue Klaus and Elijah Mikaelson (Daniel Gillies) from a magical trap.

Earlier this month, Wesley talked about the upcoming crossover. In an interview with E! News, he said having Morgan on set was nostalgic and he described his co-actor as a "a very prepared and committed actor."

"There were no downsides," Wesley said of the crossover. He added that in his opinion, switching up the usual formula of "The Vampire Diaries" is welcome anytime.

On the big screen, Wesley is set to star in two 2016 films. He will star in the drama film "Mothers Day" with Susan Sarandon, Christina Ricci and Selma Blair and in the romantic comedy-drama film "Late Bloomer" with Maria Bello, J.K. Simmons and Brittany Snow.
