"Gotham" Season 2 is set to return on Feb. 29 and fans are eager to know what happened after Detective James "Jim" Gordon (Ben McKenzie) turned to Dangerous Allies for assistance after Bruce Wayne's (David Mazouz) abduction. According to recent spoilers, something gut-wrenching is about to happen in the next episodes.
"Gotham" Season 2 episode 12 titled "Mr. Freeze" will pick up approximately one month after the death of Theo Galavan (James Frain), whose body was discovered by Wayne Enterprises and will be experimented on by Professor Strange (B.D. Wong), according to the scientists. A new alliance will be formed in the underbelly of Gotham with Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) otherwise indisposed.
In "Mr. Freeze," fans will find out what happens when somebody is unfrozen by Victor "Mr. Freeze" Fries (Nathan Darrow). Eating while watching this scene is not recommended, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Azrael is also a new character set to be added in the upcoming episodes. Executive producer John Stephens revealed that will introduce Azrael with similarities to and differences from what is in the comics.
"In many respects, Azrael will have many of the hallmarks and traits that we know from the comics," Stephens told Comic Book. He added that the character will have "a brand-new twist" and he will be brought into the Fox crime-drama series in a way that is different from anything fans have in the comics.
In the previous episode titled "Worse than a Crime," Jim and Cobblepot started making plans to save Bruce Wayne by breaking into Theo Galavan's residence and Captain Nathaniel Barnes questioned Dr. Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) on Gordon's whereabouts. Leslie secretly learned of Gordon's location from Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith).
When Leslie found Gordon, she told him she is pregnant in an attempt to persuade him to turn himself to the GCPD. Before "Worse than a Crime" ended, he proposed to her.
Cobblepot's gang won the clash against the Order "Worse than a Crime" so Theo, Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas) and Silver St. Cloud (Natalie Alyn Lind) had to escape. Cobblepot convinced Gordon that Theo may never be convicted so they took him to the docks and murdered him.
