New "Persona 5" details will feature new changes in the game's dungeon, Social Links system and new character details.
Altus revealed new game details for "Persona 5" in the latest issue of "Persona Magazine" as game director Katsura Hashino explained what is new within the sequel.
Hashino stated that the dungeons within "Persona 5" will have impressive feel into the game as the dungeon designs for the sequel will be unique and different from the previous titles. Although Hashino did not divulge any additional details, he teased that each dungeon will be different and "enjoyable" for the fans when the y play the game.
Aside from the new dungeon design tease, Hashino added some improvements in the Social Link system and just like the dungeons, Atlus will have a different spin into it. The Social Links in the "Persona" games helps the main protagonist progress into the game and have new abilities strengthening their bonds.
Hashino hopes to the new Social Links in "Persona 5" could make a huge step into the game in terms of human relations being better than that of "Persona 3" and "Persona 4", Siliconera reported.
In other news, Atlus shared new character details for the "Phanom Thieves" in "Persona 5". The game will feature four high school students (The protagonist, Ryuji Sakammoto, Ann Takamaki and Yusuke Kitagawa) and a mysterioys talking cat named Morgana.
Hashino explained that the main characters in "Persona 5" are often labeled, judge and are living in an unfortunate existence everyday. However, as players progressed into the game, they will see the characters rise up and breaking out of their miserable existence and be able to move forward.
Ryuji in the game is that first one to say that "let's change the world!" and pulls the protagonist in his vision, setting up a chain if events that will lead to "Persona 5's" main plot. It is because of Ryuji that the protagonist became a phantom thief. Ryuji's personality is described as defiant, but a good person inside and his persona is called "Captain Kidd".
Ann on the other hand, is a quarter-American girl who returned to Japan. She is described to be popular among her peers, but in reality she does not have many friends, being lonely and isolated. When she joins Ryuji and the protagonist in the game, she is described as the "party" of the group as she lightens up the mood and morale of the heroes. Her persona is called "Carmen" revealing a femme fatal side of her and her persona is unlocked during a certain incident in the game and her role in "Persona 5" story will have an huge impact in the group.
Yusuke is described as an eccentric character with a unique charm and he is a talented artist and a honor student. His persona is called "Goemon".
Morgana in the sequel will be similar to "Persona 4's Teddie and will help developed the main characters as proper phantom thieves. He is the most experienced in the group and he is often seen as a normal cat in the real world. Morgana's persona is called "Zorro" and has a "macho" form, Gematsu reported.
In addition, Hashino stated that Atlus will make a huge announcement regarding "Persona 5" during the series 20th anniversary celebration as it will excite the gaming fans and urge them to be update in the sequels development.
"Persona 5" will launch in the summer 2016 in Japan and sometime in 2016 in the United States for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles.
