New "Kingdom Hearts 3" details will feature three playable characters, modifications to the battle system and three new Disney worlds added to the game.
Game director Tetsuya Nomura teased that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will likely have more than one playable character as he hinted that players can control atleast three of them, although he did not specify who these characters are calling it a "secret" that he cannot divulge.
"Kingdom Hearts 2" already featured two playable characters Sora and his Nobody, Roxas and clearly the third instalment may feature more Keyblade users since they are battling a new Organization XIII under Xehanort's rule.
Aside from the three playable characters, Nomura added that he added some modifications to "Kingdom Hearts 3's" battle system as he explained that most of the improvements came from his own creativity and there are others that in line with the main story, SegmentNext reported.
For instance that keyblade transformations are connected to the main storyline because it goes in line with the plot point were Sora has gone through the test of mastery. Nomura commented that the new battle system was possible since they have used new hardware to make it happen and the gameplay's from past titles and spin-off games.
In other news, it seems that three new Disney worlds are being added to "Kingdom Hearts 3" joining the likes of "Hercules", "Tangled" and "Big Hero 6".
Moviepilot writer Kenny McDonnell theorized that Square Enix might be adding Disney movies "Monsters Inc.", "Wall-E" and "The Emperor's New Groove" in "Kingdom Hearts 3", as well as pitching previous worlds like "Peter Pan", "Aladdin", "Fantasia" and "Tarzan".
"Frozen", "Wreck-It Ralph", "The Jungle Book", "Brave" and "Toy Story" are also being rumored for "Kingdom Hearts 3" due to the fans voicing out new worlds in the sequel.
Voice actor Jim Cummings hinted in an interview that he will be voicing Winnie the Pooh and Tigger in "Kingdom Hearts 3" signifying that "100 Acre Woods" will return to the game.
Nomura added that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will not be the end of Sora's journey as they have only fought a singular enemy from previous games. This led to the speculations that Square Enix will continue to make "Kingdom Hearts" games whether they are sequels or spin-offs.
"Kingdom Hearts 3" will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
