The soon-to-be-launched four-inch iPhone Handset, which was initially thought to carry the iPhone 5Se name tag, has had the latest leaks suggesting that it will sport a 12-megapixel camera but no 3D Touch.
According to Mac Rumors, research by a renown Apple leaker and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests some of the hardware features to expect when the device is later unveiled as well as its potential price. The "Knowledgeable" analyst hypes a possible price between $ 400 and $500 meaning that a price reduction is due compared to the iPhone 5S which sells at $379.
If this is true, then it will drive sales into the medium-cost Smartphone market furthering the company's grip in China's and Indian markets. According to Techno Buffalo, introducing the iPhone SE at the said price point would imply that the iPhone line-up would rapidly provide undeniable options for Smartphone customers who have been using the Android and Windows Phones to date.
Besides the price, the leaks also point out hardware features to expect with the new device. According to the research note given to Mac Rumors by the Apple Leaker, the phone will come with a 12-megapixel camera probably lifted from the 6S and a slightly larger battery. It will be powered by an A9 chipset with 16GB and 64GB storage options.
It will also sport an NFC chip for Apple Pay. Nevertheless, the SE will not include 3D Touch consistent with a separate leak on the French website NWE that apparently hints the internal features of the new four-inch iPhone.
Rumors have been circulating that Apple will introduce a new entry-level device this year. The name of the prospected iPhone, however, has remained a mystery. The Tech Press publication initially hyped the name as iPhone 7 Mini before iPhone 7 c and iPhone 6C were later included as possibilities.
More lately, general consensus jumped on the iPhone 5SE but even now, that has changed. It is believed that Apple will drop the "5" designation from the conventional device leaving the only possible name as "iPhone SE" or "iPhone Special Edition."
