7-inch 2016 Samsung Galaxy Tab A runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop, supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n [VIDEO]

Samsung Galaxy J1 and J1 Mini surfaced online a week ago, and now the South Korean tech giant has quietly introduced its new version of the Galaxy Tab A (2016).

The latest Galaxy Tab A (2016) is listed on Samsung Dutch website without pricing and availability. The unveiled tablet appears to be a budget model and packs the correct specs, although it offers only Wi-Fi as a connectivity option in the currently listed variant. The listing as well reveals that the tablet is in black and white.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) has the same design as its precursor except for the lipping, which is visible at the sides of the glass screen on the Galaxy Tab A (2015). The latest tablet is more rounded and has a less aggressive bump that gives the edges a more rounded appearance than its predecessor does, according to First Post. Galaxy Tab A (2016) measures 186.9 by 108.8 by 8.7mm, and it weighs 283 grams, making it both light and portable.

The listed Galaxy Tab A (2016) is a Wi-Fi only version and sports a 7-inch TFT display with 1280 by 800 pixels screen resolution. The tablet is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor clubbed with 1.5GB RAM.

Furthermore, the listed tablet packs 8GB in-built storage that can be expanded up to 200GB via microSD card. The device has a 5MP rear camera in addition to the 2MP front camera. The main camera records videos at HD resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels at 30fps.

More features associated with Galaxy Tab A (2016) include running Android 5.1 Lollipop, supporting Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Glonass, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB.

While the official website notes the tablet does not support S Pen, in terms of features, the Galaxy Tab A (2016) will ship with Kids Mode. In addition, the tablet will be backed by a powerful 4000mAh battery.

It is important to note that Samsung is currently selling its Tab A (2015) for $250 sporting a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and 2GB RAM. The company as well has an LTE version of the tablet, and therefore, fans should expect the LTE version of the 2016 model to appear online shortly.
