HTC has kept its promise by releasing Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its older flagship smartphones such as HTC One M9 and One M8. Now, the tech giant is in process of releasing the upgrade to other HTC handsets.
The unlocked HTC One A9 already received the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update. The update is an increasing build that comes with more than 200 emojis and some performance upgrades over the Android 6.0 version.
Similarly, users of HTC One M9 on Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint received the Android 6.0 build at the beginning of this month. AT&T is yet to release the latest Android firmware for its HTC One M9 users. However, the unlocked HTC One M9 received Android 6.0 update at the end of 2015.
December 2015 saw HTC releasing Android 6.0 upgrade for unlocked HTC One M8 users. Verizon and T-Mobile released Android M update for HTC One M8 users in the U.S. at the beginning of March. November 2015 saw the Android M update reaching HTC One M8 GPE.
According to NDTV, HTC One E8 and One M8 Eye in China are now receiving Android 6.0 update. It is speculated that other variants of these smartphones will receive the latest Android firmware at the end of this month.
While HTC Desire Eye was initially not enlisted to receive Android M update, the October 2014 smartphone is currently receiving Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update together with HTC Sense 7.0 UI in UAE and Italy, according to Phone Arena. AT&T is expected to release the software update on Desire Eye in the U.S. at the end of this month.
Other HTC handsets rumored to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade include HTC One M9+, One E9+, One M9, One ME, Butterfly 3, Desire 826, Desire 820, and Desire 816. HTC One M7 is not in the list of Android 6.0 compatible smartphones. The upcoming HTC flagship smartphone, HTC One M10 aka HTC 10 is expected to launch with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow as well as HTC Sense 8.0 UI.
