“Avatar” is a 2009 American epic science fiction film directed, written, produced, and co-edited by James Cameron, and starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sigourney Weaver.

"Avatar 2" is among the much-anticipated films to hit the theater, and while the movie is still over a year away, rumors continue to grow.

Reportedly, "Avatar 2" will feature Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri's (Zoe Saldana) relationship. The first installment highlighted the two characters developing romance, but in the upcoming film, the pair will get married and establish a family.

Jake and Neytiri's love will blossom, but their hardships and challenges in Pandora are far from being over. Reports indicate that the adventure for the two would go beyond Pandora's tree of souls. The couple will take its next adventure beyond the forest to the underwater and in the volcanic surroundings.

Meanwhile, director James Cameron acknowledged that he would be bringing a new environment to Pandora.

In an interview with Coming Soon, Cameron said, "The deep ocean stuff that has more of a direct connection to Avatar 2 & 3, which by the way won't take place completely in or under the water. That's just part of the environment of Pandora that we're going to see."

There are speculations that the upcoming "Avatar 2" will focus more on Jake, who is currently a permanent Na'vi avatar and the chieftain of the tribe. Director Cameron did not confirmed this rumor in a different interview with Empire, but teased on the plot about "Avatar 2."

The director said, "I can tell you one thing about [the three upcoming sequels]. They're gonna be b**chin'. You will sh*t your mouth wide open."

One the other hand, one critic pointed out that "Avatar" lacks cultural effect. In fact, he is convinced that the second installment will not be as successful as the first one. The critic asserted that the victories of "Avatar" were its own demise at the times and it will be one hell of an uphill fight to sell the next few sequels.

"Avatar 2" was previously slated for a 2017 release, but the director chose to push it back. Stay tuned for more information as you watch the clip below.
