“GTA 6” is Rockstar Games' rumored sequel to GTA 5 that will likely be released for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

Rumors suggest that "GTA 6" development might be taking up Nevada or Colombia as the new locations, after Tokyo got reportedly dropped.

As reports reveal, Rockstar had already filed a trademark for "GTA: Tokyo," and even visited the Japanese city some few years ago in an attempt to assess its likelihood for a full GTA game, but eventually terminated the idea, Tech Radar reported. According to the publication's argument, the plans were finally dropped because "GTA" is "deep-rooted in the American culture."

Rockstar had filed trademarks for "Grand Theft Auto: Sin City" and "GTA: Bogota" as early as 2003. Gaming experts say that it may, therefore, have filed the trademarks for the new game already, although much about it remains unknown.

According to several gaming reviews, "GTA" series has continually pushed the limits of gaming especially when it comes to the maps. The Game has popularized open-world gaming style, which allows for breaking away from missions to offer players freedom to explore.

"GTA" also improved on gaming by grasping celebrity appearances, mods, hit soundtracks, and immersive online play. According to Gear Nuke, Rockstar Games is now preparing yet another big shake-up, and is considering several new locations before the beginning of the preliminary development of "GTA 6." Nevada and Colombia are just two of the rumored locations.

A new location might not be the only fresh innovation of the sixth installation of "GTA."  The game could also become the first game series developed exclusively for a next-gen console.

Rockstar initially revealed the look of the next-gen gaming saying that it would be an exciting opportunity for developing cutting- edge architectures as well as high-performance systems. Reports also show that former Rockstar President Leslie Benzies spoke about prospects of "Grand Theft Auto 6," claiming that the company had about 45 years' worth of ideas to incorporate in the game.

The innovations, as analysts propose, will take time. Considering that no official date has been confirmed of "GTA 6" release, fans will have to wait until Rockstar makes an announcement about the game.

"GTA 6 Grand Theft Auto" website proposes that "GTA 6" may see its release in 2018.
