The famous anime and manga series "Fullmetal Alchemist," created by Hiromu Arakawa, is finally having a live-action film version.

Good news anime fans, as another popular anime will see a live-action film adaptation hitting cinemas next year.

It has been reported by Livedoor News that the famous anime and manga series "Fullmetal Alchemist," created by Hiromu Arakawa, is finally having a live-action film version. The said film will star Yamada Ryosuke, who will play Edward Elric, while CGI will be used to form Alphonse's armor. The lead actor of the upcoming movie, Ryosuke, is a member of the pop group Hey! Say! Jump. He was also one of the main actors in the live action film adaptation of "Assassination Classroom," Comic Book reported.

For those who do not know, the story of "Fullmetal Alchemist" revolves around the search for the Philosopher's Stone to restore their bodies back to normal. During the first episodes of the series, Edward and his brother Alphonse tried to revive their dead mother through the means of alchemy.

The Elric brothers were unsuccessful with their attempt, and their failure resulted to a fatal consequence. Edward lost some of his extremities, while his brother suffered worst. Alphone's body was starting to vanished, which left Edward no choice but to transfer his brother's consciousness inside an armor, and hope that someday he can reverse it all with the help of the magical stone.

"Fullmetal Alchemist" started as a manga series in 2001 and ended in 2010. The hit manga series made a debut on Japanese television way back on 2003, followed by its season 2, titled "Brotherhood," in 2009. In addition, two animated films of "Fullmetal Alchemist" were developed, titled "Conqueror of Shamballa" (2005) and "The Sacred Star of Milos" (2011).

Today, with the official announcement that it will have a live-action film adaptation, fans all over the world could not wait for its premiere date. As of the moment, there is still no firm information yet regarding its specific premiere date, but it has been reported that the film is now under development, which is why its followers should not be surprised to hear constant spoilers regarding the upcoming film.

Hopefully, "Fullmetal Alchemist" will not end up like other popular anime turned live-action films that performed poorly in the big screen, such as "Attack on Titan."
