Reports suggest that it is unlikely that Apple MacBook Pro 2016 will have the touchscreen and a detachable keyboard.
Apple already has another device, namely the iPad Pro with a detachable keyboard and touchscreen. Hence, it does not make sense for it to introduce a similar device and affect the sales of the former. Also, the interface of OS X10.11 El Capitan is not optimised for a touchscreen, so it seems quite impossible for Apple to introduce a new MacBook Pro 2016 with these features.
Besides, numerous Apple officials have stressed on the fact that they do not think that it is the correct interface for their laptops, as yet. Hence, it seems that a MacBook with a touchscreen and a detachable keyboard will take a few more years to make its entrance.
Meanwhile, Apple is currently all hushed up about its line of upcoming products and their release dates. However, it is strongly rumored that the Sky Lake processors will be coming to the Cupertino products, according to Mac Rumors.
The 15-inch MacBook Pro 2015 is equipped with a Haswell chip that was released in the third quarter of 2014. Going along with this trend, the launch of the Sky Lake processors is coinciding with the launch of the upcoming MacBook models from Apple. This may mean that the MacBook Pro 2016 models will be equipped with the Sky Lake processors.
The upcoming devices are expected to come with performance improvements and smarter power usage, along with an extended length of battery life. They are also expected to include highly powerful integrated graphics which will enable a 4K output on many devices.
It is further believed that even though Apple will want to continue with the sale of the entry level MacBook models, designing in these models will be receiving a major revamp. They will be thinner and more savvy than any of the offerings till date, according to Digi Times.
The launch dates and the price ranges of the upcoming MacBook models is yet to be unveiled, but should be expected to take place at the WWDC event.
