Big Bang's Seungri to make his Japanese film debut in 'High & Low - The Movie'

Big Bang's Lee Seung Hyun, better known as Seungri, is set to make his Japanese film debut in the upcoming motion picture titled "High & Low - The Movie."

On April 21, Thursday, it was revealed that the singer-songwriter has been cast as the son of the Korean mob boss, All K-pop has learned. The 25-year-old Seungri has been chosen for the role due to his acting experience and familiarity in Japanese dialect.

The movie is set in an aftermath of the sudden dispersal of a legendary town called "Mugen," and recounts the story of the five organizations, who aims to take control in the said area. These five organizations are known as Sanno Association, White Rascals, Rude Boys, Onija High School and Daruma Hooligans.

The five gangs will put their pride on the line as all of them take part in a fierce battle for dominance. However, the plot takes a surprising twist when a mysterious group called "Mighty Warriors" suddenly appears.

The action-packed film will be produced by the former EXILE leader, Hiroyuki "Hiro" Iragashi, along with Japanese director, Shigeaki Kubo, at the helm. It features the Exile Tribe 19- members and another star-studded lineup, including Kyoko Koizumi, Masataka Kubota, Taichi Saotome, Kento Hayashi, Yuya Endo, Yuki Yamada, Ryohei Abe, Tasuku Nagase and among others, Arama Japan reported.

The highly anticipated blockbuster movie is said to be the first "comprehensive" entertainment project with substance from different forms of visual media, including television drama and manga, which is created in connection to the movie.

The movie planned for its nationwide premiere on July 16, while the second season of its Japanese TV drama counterpart will air on April 23, wherein Seungri will also be making an appearance.

In other news, Big Bang recently kicked off their fan meeting tour called "2016 BIGBANG MADE [V.I.P] TOUR] on March 11 at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, China. The tour will continue until May in four cities in Japan, including Nagoya, Kobe, Nagoya, and Chiba, under the concert name of "Fantastic Baby's 2016.
