"House of Cards" season 5 will reportedly feature more conspiracies, more murders and betrayal.

Since the confirmation that the hit American political drama television series, "House of Cards," will return for its fifth season, speculations about its plot and storylines are on the table. One of the rumors may have captured the attention of the show's fans, because that rumor points out Claire Underwood winning the presidency.

It is said that the wife of the lead protagonist, Claire, will not be contented being the vice president. As a result, she will decide to run for the office of the president, Christian Daily reported.

It can be remembered that "House of Cards" season 4's finale episode was a blowout, and it had the viewers' wanting for more. This could be the reason why even a grain of information, the loyal viewers of the series would still bite on it just to satisfy their thirst for "House of Cards" season 5, even if that information has no credible background.

On the other hand, it is also said that there may be an Underwood clash in the battle for the vacant presidential seat. With that said, a major storyline of "House of Cards" season 5 might be a presidential race between Claire Underwood (played by Robin Wright) and Frank Underwood (played by Kevin Spacey).

The fact that Claire was involved in his husband's campaign during the past seasons, then this would give Claire a sense of familiarity in regards on how to win the presidential election. The knowledge of Frank's wife might be enough to seal her win in the fifth installment of the "House of Cards" series.

In the sad note, according to Hollywood Reporter, the show's executive producer Beau Willimon has been reported to step down from his role. The showrunner played a big role in the success of the "House of Cards" franchise, which is why fans were shocked when Willimon announced his exit even before the release of the "House of Cards" season 5.

The EP said that he is no doubt proud of what he had contributed to the "House of Cards" series, and that his five years in working with the franchise could be enough. He added that he would like to venture on other worlds.

As of the moment, Netflix has not still announced the release date of "House of Cards" season 5.
